1 Corinthians 6:19 Print E-mail
1 Corinthians 6:19 (NASB)

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?

2 Corinthians 6:15-16 (NASB)

15 Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? 16 Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said,

“I WILL DWELL IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM;

AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.

Just a little something that has been on my heart lately (a subject that God has been dealing with me personaly about, but can be beneficial for everyone=)):

This weeks truth to live by is not taken from any book by Dr. James Dobson, but simply taken from something I feel God has laid on my heart. We hear from many ministers preaching about defiling the temple (our bodies) with drugs and alcohol, but not too many will touch on the subject of defiling our temple with food. Pastor touched on this a little bit during our holiness seminar(thank you pastor!). Understandibly this is a touchy subject that I feel could possibly be hurtful to some. Myself included. But, just sit back and consider the following....We all know the unrepairable damage that cigaretts and alcohol can do to one's body, the wrong choices in food that lead to obesity can certainly have some harmful affects as well. For example, heart disease, back problems, type 2 diabetes, high cholestrol, gall stones, high blood pressure, stroke, and the list could go on (taken from webmd.com). I choose to look at it this way as I continue on my weight loss journey: I want to please the Lord in every area of my life, and that includes taking care of the temple of the Holy Spirit. How in the world can i worship with all that I have and fight in the Spirit if i continue to make unhealthy choices with my food and exercise? Do I just quit after a minute because my body can't physically do anymore? the answer is NO! So, what do I do about it? I start making better decisions with my food and being more physically active. SO...how can we relate this to our marriages???? Well....;) I'm sure our spouses would certainly like the affects of our endevour to take care of our temple! In the words of Pastor..."I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin!"

LOVE you all!
