Multi-Cultural Ministry

MultiCultural Ministries

It is our desire to minister to the spiritual needs of all who walk through the doors of this sanctuary. According to the Quad Cities Region Demographics (2010 US Census, 2011 American Communities Survey — ACS), there are 471,551 souls in the total Quad-Cities area (over 400,000 in the greater metro). We recognize the diversity of our region and understand that some who attend our place of worship may not speak our language. We are doing everything we can to accommodate them. Therefore we provide the following, specific ministries to minister in a way that will be more accommodating to those who do not yet speak our language.

Hispanic

In the Greater Quad-Cities, which is comprised of Henry, Mercer, and Rock Island counties in IL and Scott, Muscatine, and Clinton counties in IA, there are nearly 40,000 of Hispanic descent. In our desire to minister to their spiritual needs, we provide interpretation of our services when needed. We also have plans for starting “English as a second language” classes in the near future.

French (Francophone)

2.5% of the Greater Quad-Cities region is comprised of souls of African descent. We currently minister to many from 7 countries in Africa. As this ministry grows, we will provide more events in French to accomodate them in their transition to America.
